Advertly, Inc. (the “Company”) builds imperfectly. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and what we do not. Privacy is not a footnote for us -- it is part of the product.

For this policy:

  • “Site” means imperfectly.app.
  • “Service” means the writing tool that learns your personal style and helps you produce more human-sounding drafts.
  • “We,” “us,” and “our” means the Company.
  • “You” means you, as a user.

1. Information We Collect

We collect two kinds: “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.”

Non-Personal Information is data that cannot identify you personally: anonymous usage data, referring URLs, browser type, device type, access time, and aggregate patterns.

Personal Information is data that can identify you: your email address, name, and anything else you give us during registration or waitlist signup.

1.1 How It Is Collected

To join the waitlist you submit an email address. To use the Service you may need to connect email, Slack, or other platforms so we can learn your writing habits. When you connect an account, we read only what you authorize -- enough to build your style profile.

We use cookies (session and persistent) to remember preferences and session state.

Writing analysis works like this: we look at what you have already written to pick up rhythm, sentence length, formatting habits, slang, and harmless mistakes. The original content is processed to extract style signals and dropped. We keep the pattern, not the content.

1.2 Children

The Service is not for anyone under 13. If we find we collected data from a child under 13, we delete it. Contact [email protected] if you think this happened.

2. How We Use and Share Information

2.1 Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personal Information. We share it only with vendors we use to operate the Service (email delivery, hosting). Those vendors act only on our instructions and under this Policy.

We use your information to:

  • Build and maintain your writing profile
  • Generate drafts that match your style
  • Respond to support requests
  • Send service updates

We may disclose Personal Information if required by law enforcement, to enforce our Terms, or to address fraud or safety concerns.

2.2 Non-Personal Information

We use aggregated, de-identified data to understand usage trends and improve the Service. This Policy does not limit our use of Non-Personal Information.

2.3 Business Transfers

If the Company is acquired or merged, your Personal Information may transfer to the acquiring entity. Any acquirer must continue to honor this Policy.

3. How We Protect Information

We use encryption, firewalls, and SSL/TLS to protect your data. Your account is password-protected. We urge you to log out after sessions and keep your credentials private.

Nothing is unbreakable. By using the Service you accept that risk. That said, we take it seriously.

4. Your Rights

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link. You can also manage preferences in your account settings.

Depending on your location, you may also have:

  • Right to Access -- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to Rectification -- Request corrections to inaccurate data
  • Right to Erasure -- Request deletion of your data. See our Data Privacy page for instructions.
  • Right to Data Portability -- Request your data in a portable format

5. AI Training

Your writing is not used to train a shared model. What we learn from your text stays in your account as a personal style profile. We do not use your content to train or fine-tune our underlying models, and we do not share your writing profile with other users or third parties.

This is the same promise we make on the landing page: no data sales, no model training.

6. Links to Other Websites

We may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before you use them.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. Significant changes take effect 30 days after we notify you (by email or a notice on the Site). Minor clarifications are immediate. Check back occasionally.
